MVT
- What does it mean?
The perfect waterproof breathable fabric is impervious to wind,
rain, sleet and snow yet allows condensation and water vapour
out. This moisture vapour transmission "MVT" is measured
in gms/m2/24hours. The higher the MVT, the more effective and
comfortable the fabric.
Microporous coatings have holes small enough
to allow moisture vapour out but do not allow rain in. The
newest hydrophillic polymer coatings are 50 times more effective
in MVT than conventional PU coatings and also have good strength,
durability and softness to handle.
The use of Pertex or P1F - Airtex as a lining
fabric will strengthen the life of any coated garment and
improve the effective breathability.
